Terms

Last updated October 2026

Installing Chameleon means you accept these terms. They are short on purpose.

What you get

A personal licence to install and use Chameleon on your own devices. It is free, it costs you nothing, and it does not include anything sold to you. There is no paid tier and nothing to unsubscribe from.

Keys

A key is bound to one device. It lasts three days, and you can extend it by a day up to seven times. Keys are made after you visit the YouTube channel and come back, because that subscription is what keeps the project going.

We cannot verify the subscription itself. YouTube gives no way to check it without access to your Google account, and we do not ask for that. The round trip is what gets checked, and nothing more is claimed.

What you may and may not do

Use it however you like on your own hardware. Please do not redistribute the APK as your own, repackage it under your name, or present it in a way that misrepresents who built it. The source is public, and building your own version from it is entirely welcome.

No warranty, stated plainly

The app is provided as is. Android changes between manufacturers and versions, and some settings can genuinely be locked down by your device. Chameleon refuses rather than pretending, but it cannot promise every control will work on every phone, and it cannot promise you will not brick a setting by pushing it to an extreme.

You are responsible for what you change on your own device. If a tweak makes your phone behave strangely, the answer is almost always to change it back.

Updates

Releases appear on GitHub. Sometimes a release is marked as a required minimum, and the app will ask you to update before continuing. That only happens to fix a genuine fault, and it always explains itself rather than blocking you silently.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for anything that happens to your device as a result of using this app, including lost data, damaged settings, or an interrupted update. You keep your rights under your local consumer law, and nothing here removes them.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them and the new version is on this page. Nothing is buried in an update notice.
