What we collect

Nothing. Chameleon doesn't collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything stays on your device.

What the app does

• Reads installed apps — to show you the list of apps you can customise.
• Reads your device ID — to generate your unique license key. It never leaves your device.
• Stores your settings locally — preferences, customisations, and your key are saved in app-private storage.

What the app doesn't do

• No analytics, no tracking, no ads.
• No account creation, no email collection.
• No internet connection except for the update checker.
• No access to your files, photos, or messages.

Permissions explained

We ask for a few permissions to make customisation work. Here's what each one is for:

• Query all packages — lets us list your installed apps for renaming and icon swapping.
• Set wallpaper — lets the wallpaper button actually set a new wallpaper.
• Write settings — lets font/display/animation sliders change system values (requires your explicit approval).
• Request install packages — lets you install updates downloaded from GitHub.

Data storage

All data is stored locally on your device in app-private storage. Uninstalling the app removes everything.
